    Harbor City Full Tilt IPA

Appearance: Pours a nice hazy light orange, smooth creamy had that sticks around and has some nice lumps.

    Aroma: Straight bright citrus

Flavor: Strong bitterness, very light hop flavor and a bit watery. Honestly, I'd like to see a bit more going on here, just up the flavor addition a bit.

    Mouthfeel: Well carbed, dry

Overall: A nice, bright IPA. I could enjoy this on tap all night, but it wouldn't be my first or second choice. Really just needs a little more Umph be it a touch more malt or some hop flavor.

    Nice review.

They had the Sprecher Abbey Triple on tap at the State Fair last year. I went back to the micro-brew tent a few times to get another pint.

Stupid webcam isn't working, gonna do this one the ol' fashioned way

Bridge Burner Special Reserve Ale from Lakefront Brewery, Inc.

Appearance: Got myself a 1pt 6oz bomber here, brown, cool monochrome label all reds and browns. Quick, sharp pfft on opening. The stream from the bottle is a beautiful caramel color filing the pint at a darker caramel/brown shade. Hazy and a big ass head that is lingering.

Aroma: As soon as I started the pour the aroma hit me hard. Stroonnnggg caramel and toffee immediately. Sniffing from the glass I pick up some earthy hop aromas. Smells a lot like Wailing Wench from Middle Ages. Very barleywine/american strog.

Flavor: Very tasty. The spicy hops hit you first. When I say spicy, I mean spicy. Not sure I've had some a potent spicyness from hops before, wonder what they used. Blends well with a full bodied, caramel punch. This is my kind of beer. Very in your face flavors, they don't blend into anything overtly unique, but they dance well with each other. Behind the spice and caramel you get toffee, nuget, sherry, wood.

Mouthfeel: Carbed just enough, not highly carbed at all. Slick and creamy, full body.

Overall: Awesome, awesome beer.... to me. I love this style, I love beers with huge flavors and big, thick bodies. This is the type of beer I would drink all night.

New Glarus Brweing Co. - Fat Squirrel Nut Brown Ale

Appearance: Unbelievable light color for a brown ale. I've had ambers darker than this. Its like a golden orange, bit hazy. Small head leaving a solid lacing.

Aroma: Nutty, bready malts, just a hint of floral and caramel, overall very clean and smooth.

Flavor: Mmm, very good. Nutty and lightly toasted bread; Very much like the aroma with some wonderful herbal hop notes, very noble. Really doesn't seem like a brown ale, but maybe I just have't had any real nut browns before. This is a very nice beer and I could actually enjoy brewing something similar. It doesn't seem to have a prevalent roast, toast or chocolate flavor which throws me off with a lot of browns.

Overall: Pretty much summed it up in the flavor profile, but this is a nice beer.

    Jeff's APA

Appearance: Pours a yellow gold with a white head that leaves a nice layer on top. A bit hazy.

Aroma: Light, bright citrus, there's a slight acidic note in the nose. Some biscuity malt presence, very light.

Flavor: Interesting, honey like malt flavors right away, a smooth bitterness. There is a strange flavor though. I can't pinpoint it, maybe its the hops. I've never tasted anything like it. Its not bad, but its a bit off-putting to me.

Mouthfeel: A bit over-carbed in my opinion. This may be causing the odd flavor I was picking up.

Overall: Gonna it sit and deflate/warm-up for a minute to give a final opinion. After sitting for a few its a different beer. The acic presence in the aroma is gone and the flavor is very "APAish" although a hint on the tangy side. Good beer, but was definitely overcarbed.
