    Default Corkers

Does anyone have experience with corking? My Old Vine Zin (first wine) needs to be bottled and I need to pick up a corker. I have a bunch of Amazon credit that I'd like to use. Anyone have any experience with these types:

    thanks!

I bought a floor corker (GF does a lot of wines). I'd go with at least that Portuguese floor corker there (I believe they have plastic jaws, vs the metal on the Italian and Champagne versions). If you plan on only doing one batch of wine or so a year, then I'd rent a floor version from your LHBS. Unless you enjoy gouging your eyes out with rusty spoons and beating yourself on the head with baseball bats, I wouldn't attempt bottling a whole batch of wine with a hand corker.

I'd pick the taller one, too... http://www.amazon.com/Wine-Bottle-Co...3927616&sr=8-8 .

My LHBS loans out their floor corker to repeat customers....might be worth checking yours if you only need it this one time.
