    Default Another successful O'fest

We had about 40 peeps out, expected more but some folks got lost and some others had last minute changes.

Poached about 60 Brats in beer, finished them on the grill. Served up with two home made mustards, rolls and sauerkraut (with bacon, onion, caraway, juniper, bay, nutmeg, white wine and white pepper slow cooked). There were Weisn Hendl (Roast Chicken seasoned with white pepper, paprika, salt, stuffed with Parsley and rubbed with clarified butter then served up halved), Zwiebelkuchen and a bunch of other stuff. On tap was two Oktoberfests, one single infusion, the other decoction. That and a DunkelWeizen.

    It was a blast.

Sounds great. I was just getting ready to post about my O'fest party as well. Our turnout was down a bit from past years but still had about 60 there - actually better as I got to talk to almost everyone. Brats, dogs, sauerkraut made the Polish way (w/ butter, tomato juice, bacon) and every side/dip/desert imaginable.

Had my Roggenbier and Scottish 80/- homebrew, plus a Hefeweizen, "Willamette" Brew, BSGA, Cal Common on tap as well that other brewers brought, and 5-6 commercial Oktoberfests that no one bothered to try. I'll be drinking those for the next few months.

I still need to download a few pics from the camera. A couple of dirndl-clad gals and lederhosen guys made it interesting.
Sand Gnat Brewing - the beer with a bite!

    Primary: MooHoo Stout
    Secondary: RIS (barrel)
Keg: American Wheat, Lemon Wheat, Lemon IPA, Doppelbock, Bock, Munich Dunkel
Bottled: BDSA, Wood-aged Belgian Strong, Century Ale (10/10/10BW), Cyser, Buckwheat Mead, Fireweed Mead
On Deck: Amer Standard & Lite Lager, Sweet Red

Cool. Oh I forgot, I made 5 dozen pretzels as well. At first I wasn't going to, but I banged them out in about 3 hours.

    Nice!

We had bockwurst poached in beer, butter and onions on homemade rolls w/ some Stoudts O'fest.
