Talking AMEN TO DRAFT BEER!!!!(my keg is full)

    ok sorry bout the capslock...

but having beer on tap is absolutly fantastic... akin to nailing your first all grain batch... why dont you people force this down us noobs throughts more often... it always seemed so scary... and its not bad at all (till i have to clean the thing)

my only issue is i notice no matter what i try and keep the pressure at it seems like the tap line drains out... is that normal? cuz it gets a ton of bubbles in it when you pull the tap so the pour is crazy foamy. I also noticed after pouring it has tiny bubbles spring up in the tap line near the black connector... could it be that there is a small leak?

Hell Yeah Draft beers at home is awesome! Congrats man!

Either a small leak or over carbonation. Does the body of the beer feel like it is overcarbed in the mouthfeel of it? The system may just need to be balanced, I would shut off the regulator and drain all the pressure out of the keg and start over by putting about 5lbs of pressure on the keg and see how it pours, then increase it a pound or two at a time till it pours how you like it.

How long is your beer out line? And what temp is the beer at?

Congrats dude, kegging is the cats ass.

Definitely not a leak. If you had a leak, beer would be coming out. A little more information on your set-up:

    Fridge temp
    Beerline length/ID
    Regulator pressure

As WOP says above, something seems out of balance. No biggie to correct though.
So what would MODOK do if his memory got too full?
He'd find a powersource and then he'd pick what plugs to pull.

It's not hard to clean a tap system, either. When a keg blows I rinse it out, put some hot water in and force that through the line, put some Oxiclean in it and push a little through the line, let sit for about 10 minutes, push the rest out, re-rinse the keg, run more hot water through the line, and finally end off with some StarSan through the line. Usually I also take the tap off and rinse it out to make sure there's no mold or other nasties in there. It sounds like a lot, but it takes like 30 minutes.

    It's WAY better than bottling.

I could not be happier with my keg set up right now. The only problem is saving up some $ for some more kegs!

its funny how kegging is supported by the ladies...she wanted me to start kegging way before i thought I was ready.

I belive it is a balance issue... the tap line is probably 2 feet...adn i lowered the regulator and vented but it kept going up well past 10psi. and that was with the thing just hardly cracked... so now I shut it off and vented... we will see where that goes.

as far as mouth feel and carbonation i think its pretty spot on for the style its slightly less then pop which makes for a huge rocky head... that 6 row/torrified wheat combo really helped with head retention. stuff was like whipped egg whites you could almost turn the glass upside down and it wouldnt come out!
