Default Ever fist 5 gallons of apple juice?

Made my second second batch of apfelwein today. I ended up having to stick my whole arm in it. I was fiitting the air lock onto my ale pale when all of the sudden the damn rubber grommet pushed through into the must.

I sanitized my arm pretty well before i went fishing for it. Hopefully my arm wasnt contaminated. Anyone else ever stick their arm into their wort/must?

I haven't had the pleasure of fisting my wort/must yet, but i have had to reach into a mash one time, that sucked REAL bad!

I actually had to stick my (sanitized) hand into my cooled wort last brew; my pickup tube was clogged.
Looking back I should've used stainless tongs, but didn't think of it at the time.

I had to do that with a bottling-bucket full of stout...as I was attaching my bottling wand and tube, the spigot came loose! No choice....I held the spigot in place with my left hand, rinsed my right arm in hot tap water (the sink was right there, best I could do!) and plunged it in to tighten up the nut. Later I saw the spigot threads were stripped, so it went in the trash.

The stout survived. It had a pretty high ABV, perhaps that helped.

I've seen videos of it, but it's usually some chick and not apfelwein.
