Default Morebeer Black Friday sale - a few nice items

Check these deals out, I'll bet most peeps could use the temp controller and erlenmeyer flask.

So what would MODOK do if his memory got too full?
He'd find a powersource and then he'd pick what plugs to pull.

Not bad deals at all. AFAIAC, that flask at that price is mandatory for peeps who make starters.

Awfully big flask, not sure how that thing would sit on my little stirplate. I'd like a 2 liter flask though.

I suppose it's not overkill if you're brewing 10 gallons of lager. Or want to use it as a 1 gallon fermenter.

I've used my 5 litre on a tiny 1 liter stirplate, no problem. The key to using stirplates is to make sure they have rare earth magnets as the pickups. I tore apart my Dow Corning lab plates and put heavy strength magnets on them. Do they ever crank now. Were useless before that. Yesterday, I made a 2 litre starter, and it still blew off the top, so I don't think 5 litres is overkill, even though it sounds big.

I used rare earth magnets in my DIY stirplate, it's just that the box itself isn't very big. It would probably work OK though, although it might look a little strange.

Funny, I never get big blowoffs or even much krausen with my stirplate...while the constant stirring obviously promotes growth, it also just stirs the krausen back into the wort. I used to mess around with a stopper and airlock, now I just spritz some foil with starsan.
