    Default Making a starter today

Gonna do a photo tutorial walkthough of making a starter on the cheap. (2 liter coke bottle style)

Brewing whenever I damn well fell like it. Maybe Wed, maybe Thur. Who knows. Dunno what to brew yet though. I'm thinking an RIS. I'm not gonna do 888 anymore, since I'm not over there, or maybe I'll do my own 888 brew... hmmmmm. I like the RIS idea because 888 reminds of an 8 ball, so a big black beer with a white head seems appropriate.

Eh, I'm gonna go play around in beersmith, I'll let ya'll know what I come up with.

Made a change, replacing the aromatic with Special B, so I get the caramel and hopfully toffee when it mixes with the black and chocolate. I think this beer is gonna be hella good. 8 grains, 8 hop additions and a 1.088OG

Dude, I love a good starter. It's like I'm dropping an A-Bomb! I've definitely noticed the quality of beer is better with a healthy starter. A pictorial on yeast washing would be invaluable. I'm doing it for the first time today with WLP001. I've got about 3 liters separated into a gallon treetop jug (we all know how I acquired THAT and I can't wait to put it to work.
