    Default Irish Red. Input Please.

Never tried to brew this style. Based this recipe on BCS but tweeked it a bit as always. Wanting to brew this Monday or Tuesday. I'm more than willing to ditch this recipe all together if someone has a tried and true version.

That looks like a great recipe, but I'd use 1084 hands down, unless you're in bind for liquid yeast.
So what would MODOK do if his memory got too full?
He'd find a powersource and then he'd pick what plugs to pull.

I have some washed irish ale yeast and I've been wanting to do the same thing, Red. I think I may do this exact recipe only with a larger addition of crystal 80 because I don't have any 120. I do have special B though and that is 120L. Anyone know if that would work as a sub?

I did an irish red that I was happy with; used 1 pound crystal 40L and a half pound carared. The carared adds body and color without the sweetness from regular crystal.
Also used WLP004, I would sub safale S-04 if using dry yeast.

I've got some S-04 in the fridge. I've never used it before. Anyone have any luck with this yeast?

I like it, use it for anything english or irish. More esters than US-05, which is how I likes it.

Yeah I have used it. Seems to be a good yeast.
