    Default Building a 3-tier system?

I want to build one bad, but I'm not even sure where to start. What do you guys recommend for a base? I was thinking about building the frame out of a bunch of 2x4's but I worry about the propane burners... I guess some starting questions I have for this thread are:

How would you mount a banjo burner (which I have) pictured below onto a frame made out of 2x4's?
If using 2x4's is ridiculous, how can I build a tiered system without finding expensive steel and the help of a welder?

First question, is the burner already in a stand & you are looking to take it out and mount in to something else? Or is the burner (s) already separate?

Here is a picture of mine, there are a lot of ways to modify it to fit your needs. This was taken the night i finished it so there are a few things missing from the picture. But you get the idea.

A buddy of mine built one similar except he took a turkey fryer and beafed it up and mounted it on top for a direct fired HLT. You cant see it in the picture too well but, I took pre-drilled angle iron & beefed up my stand so that the keggle would fit on it, and be a little sturdier. You could use that stuff (drilled angle iron) and just put it all together like an erector set. I am planning a few mods in the future and I will be using that. See if you have any steel supply houses in the area, and get the hot rolled steel angle iron, usually pretty cheap. I picked mine & my buddies up at one of the big box stores and it was a little pricey for the little amount that we actually needed.

If you look at this picture:

It is made from Unistrut. It is available at Home Depot net to the electrical conduit. It's about $1.30 a foot.

That's perfect Short_Drive. I could build with wood and use that stuff to mount the burners..

It's a burner by itself, no turkey fryer, WOP. I have two turkey fryers with smaller burners, but it won't fit on either frame, I tried

YAh that burner is Fing huge i got mine today. I just built 3/4 of my brew stand today. Im using 3 or so frames to build a single tier. No need for a welder here im bolting it all together, all you need is a couple drill bits and something to cut the bed frames with (angle grinder, dremel, or miter saw). Its actually pretty easy and sturdy enough so far to support me. As far as mounting the banjo, i am probably going to use the steel with holes already in at or cut some more bed frames up.

A build sheet would be cool, but I probably don't have the tools to build a steel one.
