HBCsucks = me.
You probably don't know me at all. I was known as Brew Dude on HBT but I changed my name to Tankard a while back.
I want to apologize to Oflan, Cheesefood, Evan, and anybody else that I offended with my previous post. I was imbibing in a few too many homebrews last night and I happened to stumble onto this site by seeing a link in DrunkenSatyr's Xbox profile. I tried to add him as a friend, because he posted his gamertag on HBT a while back and told me to add him.
I have no excuses for my actions, and the fact that I wasn't sober is no justification. I mention this simply to explain what led up to the post.
I read a few posts that insulted HBT, and for whatever reason, I felt like I had to defend the site. I then remembered an incident about a month ago where someone by the name of "HBtalksucks" came onto the board and started making posts. Once I learned of this site, I rashly decided that it was someone here who did it, when in reality I have no proof at all.
The funny thing is, after thinking about some of the things you guys said about HBT, I realize that you are right. I have had my own share of problems with *some* of the mods on the site, and I am becoming more and more aware of the oppressive behaviors that some of them have. I found out the complete story of what happened to Cheesefood and Oflan after I made my post here, and I realized that the mods on HBT were clearly in the wrong. I can't really condone the action of banning somebody, for LIFE, simply for posting a "Goodbye letter." HBT must be the only site I know of that has a "Goodbye letter = permanent ban" rule, and frankly, it's bullshit.
To reiterate, I feel terrible for what I did here last night, and I hope that you guys can forgive me. Although I don't see myself leaving HBT, at least not yet, I would gladly support this site as well, given the chance. I realize that I made a terrible first impression and it may take some time to recover from that - I know this post will only whitewash over it a bit. Of course, I would completely understand if you would like me to not stay here as well. In that case, at least I have said my peace and tried to make amends.
Now that I'm clear-headed, I can see that this really is a nice brewing community. I'm sure with time it will gain even more membership and support.
Thanks for hearing me out. Now I'm off to build the collar for my keezer.
-Tankard
