    Default I've hit the plateau

I've been brewing AG for a year and a half now and quite honestly I feel like I've hit a knowledge plateau. You know what I mean, I've got my way of doing things down pat based off of the research I did prior to going AG and my own trial and error once actually doing it.

While I feel that I brew pretty good beer I think that there is room for improvement. I guess I need inspiration but I suppose that I've been lacking that for some time. Brewing now, for me, is more about keeping beer in the pipeline, and less about learning something new.

Anyone else find themselves in this situation? What was your solution?

Water chemistry is a good call, hadnt thought about that.

Lagers arent possible until I move. Just not enough room here for ferm. chambers.

    Thanks for the response

Guess I'm asking for other things in the brewing process I could learn. Steve got a good one going with water chemistry.

    Anyone else have ideas?

Word. I think a lot of ag brewers shrug water chemistry off. You can't improve your beer if you have a water flaw. Do you have temp control?

Those are the two big ones as far as I'm concerned. I agree that water chemistry and ferm temps will take your beer from good to great !

No, and I've realized that this is a glaring flaw in my process. But as of now I just dont have the space without moving a ton of shit around to inconvenient spots for 2 weeks then moving it back after fermentation is complete. Something to look a little harder into

I'm not bitching about the quality of beers here. They are pretty much all pretty darn good and thats not just only my opinion. I guess my concern is that I feel like there isnt anything else for me to do to learn AND improve without spending another G for new equipment (which I dont really have room for). All of this makes brewing not so much the adventure that it was a year ago and more of a chore at times.

I am a +1 on the water Chemistry and lagering.

Sorry but I haven't had that happen yet. I have had enough breaks in the brewing to keep me excited about brewing.
I also have a lager fridge so that covers me there. I have had my water tested but haven't gotten into modifying or checking if I need to modify.

Now that I sit here and think about it some, I think this heat wave has a bit to do with it. I'm just not motivated to brew. Maybe I'll keep my brewing self busy by building some sweet electric set up with exhaust fans so I can brew inside year round. Thatd be the life.
