    Default Get Jealous: Chest Freezer Score

    Few weeks ago my brewing partner scored this chest freezer off Craigslist for $125. Owner had the original manual and receipt, which he gave to us. The first pic has a blue bucket in it for size comparison. We use these to ferment 15 gal batches. The freezer is 28 cubic feet and can hold four of those fermentors, plus a couple kegs of course

    Right now have a Pils and a Vienna lagering, but hopefully we will get those spots filled quick

    Color me jelly, holy fuck. What a steal. I paid $125 for some okay freezer that is about half that big.

    A good one! unfortunately my score a few months ago lasted a day then shit itself. Called in a refigeration mechanic who told me the feezer was around 40 years old and the compressor was U/S. Quoted 500 hundred bucks to fix it with the advice 'not worth it mate' so I tipped it. O well maybe I will get lucky next time.

    I am looking to buy new when I get one. I need a smaller one anyway and they aren't that expensive. Maybe even find one scratch and dent.
