Default Central Vee-yaa Brew fest 2011 (or 2012)

Hey guys, I've been on an extended hiatus from brewing, what with me changing jobs so much in the past two years.

We are settling in here in Virginia and building a house--should be built by December (or possibly late November). With the holidays December might not be good, but we could plan for early 2012 or maybe springtime.

What say the masses? Who's interested in helping me break in the driveway with wort stains?

In like Flynn with a jam jar full of gin.

Remind me not to brew a beer that requires a 2.5 hour boil this time. Where are you building?

We are building in Moseley, VA near the Swift Creek Reservoir. We decided against the lot that was low-lying and found another cul-de-sac lot (but a different builder). It's not the house we wanted, but it will do. Plus the lot is really effing small--about .24 acres.

On the plus side, we live a bit closer to you, but a bit farther from the Norfolk area (sorry Dale).

No apologies, I'll make the drive. As long as I and the Norfolk area survive this weekend, that is.

Latest news: we should be closing on December 12th. Fuckers say they can't get it any sooner even though we haven't had any inclimate weather (which is what they said would hold it up for us getting in by November).

Anyway, Not sure if December is going to work for everybody and January/February is effing cold. If we wait until spring, I'll have time to get my basement bar at least functional...

As I mentioned last year, if this is on a weekend that I don't have all of my kids and I have somewhere to crash, I'll see what I can do to attend. My wife puts up with Beerfest every year, so as long as I give her enough notice, it shouldn't be a problem.

I need to meet the only other homebrewing Detroit Lions fan that exists on this planet...at some point - even if Evan *IS* going to be there.

Well, we have time to plan ahead so give us some dates that are good for you.

We will have two spare bed rooms and a basement with a pull out couch. Plus many air mattresses so we can accommodate some masses. Plus the wife has given the okay to invite a bunch of smelly men over...

Just so you know, OB takes up more than one bed. MF'er is built like a fridge.

I looked up Moseley. Looks closer than Chester, though who knows what a drive down 522 will be like. Oh, hey, look, a fucking convoy of hay tractors going 10mph and no passing lanes, awesome! But yeah, I'm still in, whenever...just gimme enough notice and I'll clear a weekend.

I'll PM you the address so you can actually Google Map it (For some reason Moseley doesn't seem anywhere near where our house is).

Any interested parties let me know and I'll send a PM.
