Default Heat transfer in Brutus 10 type equipment

I am in the final stages of planning my Brutus based on the fine work already posted. Where flat stock cross pot supports at the top are used (X) , as the flame is always heating these up along with the bottom of the pots does this cause and issue with the top frame getting very hot? I was considering leaving the center areas open to avoid this. Maybe just using 4 leftover 2x2 stubs equally spaced in each pot frame. Down side of this is if you want to use smaller diameter pots from time to time. Any thoughts on this please?

After looking at the pictures, I would venture a guess it's non-issue in relation to have an X or not. The heat is going to radiate through the mass of the pot liquid primarily, but with either design (I have seen plans without the X's on them) the top frame is still going to get hot.
