Got the tourbox from Dale today. I couldn't wait to try the West Coast Blaster, so after 8 hours in the fridge to settle, it was time.
First, it was cloudy, no doubt from being shipped. I should have let it sit overnight, but oh well. Poured a deep ruby-brown. White head that left a small lacing the whole way down.
Immediate aromas were almost minty hop aromas. Doesn't smell like centennials or cascades. There a little bit of dark fruit in there... very very faint.
Flavor, well incredible. This is an awesome amber. It has a deep hop flavor but perfect balance on the bitterness. Doesn't taste too bitter, or too malty, just perfect. Small hints of roast on the finish. Freakin incredible. I get a kind of minty hop profile that works so good for this. Really a great beer Dale. I wouldn't mind having many many more of these.
