Temp controller came today. Going to wire this bad boy in and use the chest freezer for fermentation control until I piece together the kegger parts.

Gonna blend with your thread if that's cool, Heinz, since I'm in almost the same exact situation. I picked up a GE 15.5cf freezer a couple days ago. $150 delivered, great working condition and clean. Just ordered my ranco. In these pics can anyone tell where I will be installing the controller?

In case you're having trouble reading that schematic - you plug the ranco into the wall and the freezer into the ranco - the controller turns the power on and off to the freezer.

Not a problem Flan, it's cool. Wop, that diagram is hilarious. I like the graffiti effect.

I just have to pick up an extension cord before I can wire it in, I'll probably do that tomorrow. Today I spent cleaning an old kegerator that I just got back, and then cleaning out the new chest freezer, and dragging that sumbitch inside. Pretty excited.

Man, wiring up that controller was a cake walk. I have it set to 50 and I'll check it in the morning to make sure. So far it passed the smoke test though.

Time to brew some schwarzbier!
