Not going quite as planned today. The slurry was much bigger than anticipated, and I accidentaly dumped way to much water in the carboy, so I had to transfer the slurry to 3 different containers, let it settle out, transfer to 2 more containers, repeat, finally down to 1 flask. With this being a stout cake I'm going to let this settle for a few hours in the fridge so I can get the dark liquid off the yeast. After that I plan on adding more sterilized water and letting it set up overnight. So no brewing after all for me today.

The good thing is that tomorrow is my normal day off and I can brew then. Still a damn fine day. Enjoy the rest of your workday losers.

I was downtown today. If I had known, I could have brought you some US-05.

I need to brew again soon myself. I made a batch of Kolsch last month, and my friends are plowing through it.

Giving this another shot now. Real simple extract batch. 50% Pilsner extract boiled for 60 min, 50% Extra Light extract boiled at 15 min, and 1lb Rice solids boiled 15 min. Magnum to bitter and Liberty at flame out. Pitching a huge washed 05 slurry from the stout and going to ferment around 60-62F.

Making the girlfriend actually do everything. I'll be there to supervise, but it will really be her first batch ever. Took her 3 years to finally agree to give it a shot.
