Maybe if I move it closer to the big garage door. It stays 55 on the thermometer on my fridge and that is about in the middle of the garage. So if I cover it with a towel and move it closer to the garage door it may be colder. I will move my therm around a little bit over the next day or two and see where is best.

Shit, if ambient is 55, then by the time exothermic heat from aerobic activity takes effect (likely around the second or third day after the first signs of activity), you'll likely be above 60. Not good. I would get as close to ~48 as you possibly can and then let the aerobic activity take it up to the mid 50's for the mean fermentation temp. This beer really really benefits from a very clean profile, and the lower the better during the first 2/3 of fermentation.

Cool, cause looking at the weather forecast my garage actually will be a little chillier than expected.

Can your chiller get the wort down that cold on its own?

Probably not. I am thinking I am going to have to stick the carboy in my kegerator and then pitch a couple of hours/next day later.
