I would love to have mythTV running on this machine, and that was what I originally set out to do, but I don't think it is powerful enough to record while watching another show (dual tuner). And I didn't want to buy the TV tuner card unless I had some evidence that it would work.

What are the stats on your mythTV box?

Freenas server is up and running! Very cool software. HIGHLY recommended. Especially if you have some spare parts around. Running it off a thumb drive. You can configure everything via the web browser interface.

my myth box is 2.4 ghz amd, 512 ram, 250 gb sata samsung hdd, and the happauge pvr 550 dual tuner card. the card takes alot of the processing overhead away. I imagine they are cheaper than the 120 i paid for it, since it is an analog only card. it can encode to mpeg on the card, so the overall machine doesnt have to be overly powerfull. I run the onboard vga to my projector. I have a sony 7" crt projector 1272q? from the mid 90's
