Are there any deals? Where is the best place to get one for all of us on a low budget just getting into grains? What kind is sufficient?

I love my barley crusher! I got mine through the beersmith website because they have some kind of deal where you can save a couple of bucks. Not a huge savings but still.

I don't think that there are too many deals around on Barley Crushers. I got mine directly from the source.

I've got this one and I'm happy with it.
Built my own hopper and base but you can buy them if you don't wanna make your own. Barley crusher is also good, so is monster mill.

I have this one which I motorized. You can adjust it while it's running which IMO is an important feature:
http://www.beer-wine.com/product_inf...64§ionID=1 The Phil Mill I is the most highly under-rated malt mill available. They are no longer manufactured, but you can still find a few available here and there. Not high on the bling scale if that's what you are looking for, but the grist it produces is second to none. Not bad for having essentially only one moving part. |

I'm going to buy the 7lb hopper model from AHS. $113.99 plus the $7.99 shipping.

Karma, and anyone else considering the Barley Crusher....For the extra $25 get the 15# Hopper. You will regret not getting the 15# once you start crushing 7# at a time.

Unless of course you plan on doing 10 gallon batches, then it might be worth it.

Good Point Tank! It is beneficial for me because I do 10 Gallon batches. However, even when I do a 5 gallon batch I can fit all my grains in at once and be done.
