The sad thing is I just bottled the same damn stout yesterday. I bought the cooper's kits before I found this forum and thought what the heck. The first dark ale I did turned out alright, very drinkable. The bitter I just did sucked balls, and now I will get to see how the stout comes out. I tasted it after I took a gravity reading and it tasted very thin, not like a stout.

Ive been watching his videos and cant do it no more.. its not brewing beer. you are mixing stuff in a bucket that is allready hopped. You have no control over it!!.. Its great to get people started. but $99 for the cooper kit that comes with a kit, fermenter, plastic bottles, priming tabs. what the fuck is a priming tab!! I mean come on..!!! At least they are trying.. they just need to take the next step.

A priming tab is a sugar pill that you drop in the bottle when you're bottling instead of mixing in bulk sugar with the whole batch. Works well especially when you're just bottling a few.

If you don't have a bottling bucket do you think this is the superior way to do it?

I was going to try boiling water with dextrose and then pouring it as easily as I can without aerating the beer then lightly stir, let it sit for an hour then bottle. Will this work?

I just had a Cooper's Irish stout and honestly it wasn't bad, it wasn't anything near the best beer I have ever tasted but it was certainly drinkable considering that I bottled it on thursday.

We'll find out soon. Salad has some prehopped extract at his LHBS that I'm going to try out.

He also has some shit that I've never seen before... it's 'wort' in a 2L bottle. You pour some yeast in, put a vented cap on it for 2 weeks , then it's supposed to be 'ready to drink'. I'm going to try that one too.

As for debating creationists, Evan, you're right. It is a bit like shooting fish in a barrel, but since I don't have a PhD or any advanced degree in geology, paleontology, physics or astrophysics, I've deferred the creationist debunking videos to those who can back up what they're talking about with their professions and/or formal educations. For a good collection of creationist debunking videos see here.
