Is it wrong that I have Kansas the champs in all 3 of my brackets?

YES!

It's wrong that you've already filled out brackets.

Filling out these brackets is nothing but dumb luck anyways, asshats. :D Who do you think will go all the way this year?

I can't stand them....but Kentucky is going to be very hard to beat. Ohio State looks good, too. Kansas is always tough and has a very talented team. The Orangeman have a great team, but you have to be leery of a team that goes out early in their conference tournament. I think WV will go far. There are just so many good teams out there. I can't wait until Thur!

I love this time of year!

My money's on Syracuse. Kentucky's phenomenal, but freshman guards will lose you tournament games no matter how good they are...ok, except for Derrick Rose.

I thought I read a stat where no team going out as early as 'Cuse did in their conference tourny, has ever won a National Title.

I agree about the Freshman guards.

I thought I read a stat where no conference tourney has had as many good teams as the Big East's. ;)

I agree.....but for some reason, the big Tournament has a way of filtering out teams. You always see dominant conferences get broken down by the time it's gets down to 16,8, and then 4. I think there will be at least 4 in the 16 and maybe 3 of those in the 8.

I love this time of year, too! Taking Friday off to brew early in the morning and watch games al day long, then having friends over to drink beer, eat and watch the games all day Saturday!

I'm tempted to pick Kansas, but I actually think Kansas State, Baylor and Villanova may have a better chance at winning it all vs. the #1 seeds.

Oh yeah, this time of year is glorious. I won't be brewing, but I will be drinking. Taking Thursday and Friday off to drink homebrew and watch basketball.

Nothing like leaving Thursday at lunch to catch the Vandy game somewhere.

But I definitely don't have enough beer at home for everyone. I'mma get in trouble with the friends, oh well.

Sweet! If I had another vaca day, I'd have done the same. My wife leaves to visit her niece in Orlando Wednesday night, so I'll be on my own for the next week and it would have been nice to have both days free. But all I had left was this one vaca day that I had to use before April 1st or I'd loose it.

Believe it or not, I actually get excited about the play-in game tomorrow night! I'm picking Winthrop.

MD will probably win it all this year. I'm glad they decided to let GA Tech beat them in the ACC tourney so they would have more time to rest for the big tournament. :crack:

Nard'dog agrees.

I love the NCAA tournament so much that I can barely keep myself focused at work. This year will be even better because I'll get to enjoy the Sweet 16 while reveling in Vegas debauchery.

So, who here is in a bracket pool?

So, who here is in a bracket pool?

<--- This guy.

I think it'll be a pretty boring year as far as upsets. IMO the only 1 seed that's going down is Duke, and that'll be to Villanova. The only other significant upset I picked was Utah State over Texas A&M, then Utah State over Purdue. Not that I think Utah State is that great or anything, I just think both A&M and Purdue got seeded too highly.

Duke is a tough call. If Shyer (SP?) is "on" and Singler can put up another 20-25 then they are tough to beat. Those two guys alone have the potential to score in the high 50's.

I'm in one. Been in the same one for the last five years. I've come close a couple of times - placed 5th and 4th. Usually ~60-70 participants. The kitty is ~$600 and payout is 50% to the winner, 25% to 2nd place, 15% for 3rd and 10% for 4th. Not bad for a $10 entry fee!

And Purdue won't get past Sienna!;)

Fuck the 'Dores. Lost two bets on them last weekend. -2 for the game and -3 for the second half. Would have had one of my best gambling weekends ever if not for those shitasses.

PseudoChef
03-16-2010, 02:32 PM
You bet on them for a second half spread? There's your problem - they're fucking Vanderbilt FFS, choke artists extraordinaire.

Niedermier
03-16-2010, 02:37 PM
The problem was that, even though they were down at the half, I still liked them to cover for the game. I had them pegged for a six point win so I effectively just doubled up on them with my second half bet. I rarely take the chalk for the whole game but am a huge chalk fan for second half action.

Alright... I went with Villanova to win it all, defeating Kansas in the final game. Only two other people in my pool picked them. And they're both broads.

I am in a pool that is a spread pool by lottery. Might be difficult to explain but here goes.

You draw teams out of a hat. If your team wins you keep that team. If your team loses but covers the spread you get the team that beat your team. If you team loses but doesn't cover the spread you are out.

I am in another one that is a normal bracket pool - $25, 30 people every year. payout is top 3 (50%, 30%, 20%).

Union Brewer
03-19-2010, 12:05 AM
I dropped 3 teams alread, but the good thing is I only had all 3 winning 1 game. So I am still in good shape.

On a side note. What's up with CBS assholes showing the entire Kentucky game that is a blowout instead of switching over to one of the good games. Drives me nuts. No Iowa and UNLV are in one hell of a shootout and I get to watch UK up by 30. Assholes!

I would switch over to CBS College and catch the other games. They would just show a couple of mins. of the other games, but it was better than watching KY in a blowout. I got to see the final seconds of the Northern Iowa game. Georgetown losing is going to blow apart a lot of brackets. I knew they were highly overrated, but not that bad!

Anyone see that Murray St. kid ice Vandy...love the tournament, win or go home! Sorry PS.
Ohio, Washington, ODU, they all f'ed my bracket. I picked upsets, but none of the ones that actually happened. Oh well. Still great games.

Union Brewer

I think yesterday was one of the best days of college basketball ever. Haven't really gotten a chance to watch much today, but I am settled in ready for them to start back up.

Rhoob, I ended up just watching them online. They played that entire UK game and it was a blowout. Effin idiots.

My bracket is still in pretty good shape. I did however have Minn winning a few games because I figured they had momentum on their side from the Big 10 Tourny. Oh, well.
