Sounds like a blast to me. I hear cruises are awesome.

I'd probably hit up the islands though. If I'm going to Alasaka, I'm gonna be hunting and fishing!!

Yeah I'm looking at one leaving out of Seattle (probably spend a day there or too also).. The Caribbean is another option too - Maybe I just need to work overtime and do both this year.. Oh the choices..

I live where those ships go,and besides the scenery, all you're gonna see is fakey contrived tourist bullshit.Take the Alaska Marine Highway(state ferry system)from Bellingham and see/tour on your own terms instead.Grab a map and make a plan!Save your cruise dollar for the Carribean.

Don't know too much about the alaskan cruise in particular, but have some thoughts on cruises. While cruises are tons of fun, they do only stop at really touristy places and you arent really there for very long. SO, if you have a large group of people, cruises are a good option, but if you really just want to go on a vacation, i'd opt for spending time on an island. I just got back from St. Croix in the USVI and it was absolutley amazing. It is not at all touristy (All of the cruises go to St. Thomas) and you can really get a feel for the island life. We kyacked at night in a bioluminecsent bay, sailed out to a reef and snorkeled and went trail riding in the rainforest, in addition to spending many nights at the brewpub. check it out if you are looking for somewhere to go in the islands..

I have no problem drinking and planning. http://planetsmilies.net/party-smiley-561.gif

I should probly point out, though, that all my plans suck.

St. Croix looks nice, I went to St. Lucia last year, was outstanding - but definatly a thrid world feel around town - locals were very nice though!. Highly recomend the island for a get away - Jungle tour was worth the cash, along with the 'pirate' ship cruise - one thing though, you have to love rum punch - its everywhere, and free on all the 'tours'..

Duel vacation this year might be good, work allowing!
