Counterflow and get a pump. I honestly can't recommend a CFC without one.

Then there's no question: cfc. The trick for cleaning it: clean out your kettle with water and Oxyclean, then pump-feed it through your CFC to clean it.
Now that you're moving to NY you'll have access to cold ground-water year round. A CFC will shave down about 20 minutes.

Nah, then I'd have to ship the copper to you then ship back to me. I'm sure I can figure it out.

Sweet, I have no idea how it works though. Anyone have plans drawn up for a CFC?

The 3/8" runs threw the top in the compression fitting and out the other side of the tee. the garden hose gets clamped on the end with the plane pipe sticking out. the 3/8'' pipe then runs inside the garden hose. the brass fitting is where the water hooks up to it.
