I have one of the buller (S-shaped) fermentation locks. If the level of the liquid is not the same in both bubbles, what does it indicate? Or, does it just happen randomly? Thanks

Just random, I believe. Wouldn't worry about it.

It should be pushing itself toward the outside, so you should have less water in the side closest to your fermenter. If that is not that case, then you must live south of the Equator.

^ What he said (except for that equator stuff). If you have less liquid in the side closer to the fermenter, your fermenter is building positive pressure, likely due to fermentation. If you have more liquid in that side, you're creating a vacuum in the fermenter, which is not likely but possible.
