What is everyones favorite extract kit?
I just started brewing in June. 5 beers in and so far my favorite is the
Hanks Hefe kit from Midwest!

My favourite is my very first brew, a Kilkenny clone (http://www.brewsupply.com/HowTo/Recipes/kilkenney.html).

My first ever was a partial extract kit from morebeer...

It was simple, came out just as I hoped, and left me wanting to continue the hobby...

My first was a Fat Tire Clone from My LHBS - got me hooked and then I made tweaks to the recipe once I got some experience. Now I am AG'in it - I haven't made the Fat Tire batch yet.

I never did a kit. But I think my dads going to start brewing soon now that he has retired, so this is good, I'll be able to give him suggestions.

Only extract I ever did was the Nut Brown Ale kit from Northern Brewer - was good enough to get me hooked into homebrewing.

Hop Head IPA from Midwest was excellent, as were others from them
Many of the AHS clones were tasty

I brewed a Hank's Hefe from Midwest and it turned out great. I really like it. Most of the kits I have done are from Brewers Best and all of them have turned out to be great tasting beers.

A can of Coopers Stout, makes the best door stop in the house, as for beer I am not sure.:D

Brewers Best kits are very good. I've never brewed one personally, but my friend Dave has brewed several of these kits and his beer is usually great. I've only brewed a few extract kits, and they were all from my LHBS. I never ordered an extract kit online.

ESB Brewing Kits are pretty top shelf. You can't screw them up, because you only add water and yeast. The APA is a really nice kit.

Thats what i'll be doing is a kit.. but not sure what one.. Jackie wants me to do a blue moonish belgium type ale first so i might have to do that first.. but then off to the yummy darker stuff that i love. :)

for anyone whose ordered a kit/yeast online..
what's the best route to go about it? (thinking more along the lines of liquid yeast)
super fast shipping? the ice packs? ... rather not pay the expensive shipping..

The ice packs work well, in my experience. I've never had problems with yeast when I order online.

I was hoping for a plug on Nutbrown. I thought it sounded taste and was thinking of making it my next brew.

I liked the brewers best kits. My favorite one was a stout that I added oats and some coffee to. It turned out really good.
I made a Cooper's dark ale with some extra grains, hops, and a different kind of yeast and it turned out really good. I was experimenting since it was my last extract kit.

I really, really am enjoying this one.
Northern Brewer Extra Pale Ale Extract Kit (http://mikesbrewreview.com/recipe-review-northern-brewer-extra-pale-ale-extract-kit/)
After sitting in the bottle for 2 months it has become darn near perfect in taste for me. The head is big, sticks around and laces on the sides and the hops/caramel balance is supreme! I brewed it twice now I like it so much.

what specifically do you taste? I just used it in my saison and a honey blonde. Is there a certain flavor that it imparts?
