To get the cob webs out of my brewing mind, I started again with a simple malt extract kit. "Ironmaster Northern Brown Ale" from Muntons. I didnt do anything extra or special, just followed the directions in the can. It said you could add another malt extract, or just plain old granulated sugar. I went with the sugar since I had it on hand (currently on disability, and had to convince the wife to let me buy the $14.00 can.. pretty bad huh.. I will say it PWed)

To get on with it, I brewed on the evening of the June 29th. Today is July 2nd. The instructions say it needs to ferment anywhere from 5 to 8 days.

The first morning, I woke up to the big old foam over (I am sure there is a tech name for that) and the water in my airlock had been blown out. I added more water to the lock and the "farting" (thats what my boys call it... the bugs are "farting" dad) resumed. It was very active.

Last night, I noticed the action had slowed dramaticly.
Today, one every 40 seconds or so.

Am I just being impatient, or do you think something might be awry?

Thanks

I don't see what the problem is, it's only been 3 days. I'd let it ferment for ~2 weeks before bottling, not just 5 to 8 days. It should continue bubbling slowly for a while, and after a week there won't be much bubbling at all.

Yea, DON'T WORRY. it's fine, let it sit til the 10th or 11th then bottle that sucker up.

Well, guess I will be forced to be patient for half that time. I will be camping until the 6th so I cant sit at home and worry bout it.

So in the mean time, I picked up some Henry's Hefe (something I have never tried... Hefeweizen, so it will be a new exp) and some Killians Irish Red to tide me over. Plus add to my bottle stock.

Thanks for the info guys.
