Going to keg orange/csacade PA this weekend. Was in primary for 2 weeks, dry hopped in secondary one week and cold crashed at 40f for one week. It was my first attempt at partial mash and I fucked it up beyond belief. Mash temp rose to 170+ after about 20 minutes and I never got full conversion. OG was 1050. Dumbass that I am I racked to secondary before remembering to use that glass piece of shit that you guys call a hydrometer. On a side note, I must be a serious idiot because I have had more trouble trying to get hydro readings than I can remember. Anyways, I check the gravity after racking to secondary and it was just under 1020. I'm pretty sure that was not ideal. Oh well, fuck it I said. What the worst that can happen. Guess I will find out this weekend. I'm going to brew this one again of the 4th and will hopefully not be such a assfuck of a brewer. If I fuck up the OG or FG of one more brew I am going to hit myself in the head with a fucking hammer.

Have you tasted it? I bet it will be better than you think, just a bit sweet

Actually when I tasted it before pitching the yeast is was pretty good (and yes sweet). When I tasted after racking to secondary it was very watery with not much other flavor.

at 1.020 it should have a decent malty sweetness in there. That's a pretty high final gravity.

I wouldn't worry though. Keg that bitch up and drink it.

Oh yeah, this will also be my first attempt at kegging. There is no telling how many ways that I will eventually fuck this beer up.

Kind of nervous? You sound close to suicidal. :D

Flanny's right, though, mistakes in this hobby tend to add character to beer. I think you're being too hard on yourself. The benefit of the PM is that you don't get all your fermentables from mashing, so keep at it until you get it down. twss

Yeah, its cool. At worst I have some beer that I dont like and at best I have some beer that I do. No big deal.

So I snuck a sample out of the secondary last night and it was much better than expected. Maybe one of my best to date.
