Got the airport in Rochester and they asked if I had any weapons in my checked luggage. I said I had nun chucks. They called the sheriff over while telling me they are an illegal weapon in NY state. So all sorts of thoughts ran through my brain: Am I gonna get a ticket? Are they gonna arrest me?? Am I NOT going to San Diego?!?!?!?!
Luckily they just confiscated them and are going to destroy them. The cop was super nice when I mentioned my wife was in the army. Lucked out there, fellas. Pretty upset about no nunchuck scenes though. Was really looking forward to filming some nunchuck action on the beach.

And I'm proud, to be, an AMERRRKIN, where at least I know I'm freeeeeee....
So two sticks connected by a chain is illegal...stay classy, NY!
What were you doing bringing chuks on your trip anyway?

Right now's not really a good time for beach going anyway. We've got the June gloom going on, though maybe it's not as bad down in SD.

In Crack-chester I figured they would GIVE you a weapon if you didn't have one.
Here's the ones I keep in my desk:

My co-worker was there last weekend, and said it was beautiful and sunny. Here in Los Angeles, it was pretty ugly...grey and humid.

Must have chucks!! I've got a bitchin set of cocobolo speed chucks I can UPS out to you if you need em ;)
Do they allow "practice" chucks? I have a pair around here somewhere of the foam and string kind...admittedly not as cool as the stick and chain version though.... Dunno if you could get your hands on some in NY...

Last time I flew I forgot I had a pen knife in my carry on. They found it and took it.

Hell yeah dude, this guy I know got arrested once and he had a sweet ass butterfly knife, he said the cop was all like, "you know these are Illegal, right? I won't write it up this time, consider yourself lucky" And then he slid the knife into his pocket.

I had the same experience with a sheriff, who confiscated my little homemade, hand-carved mahogany pipe and slipped it into his shirt pocket. That was over 25 years ago, wonder if he's still got it!
