So I decided against using a prebuilt content management system or blog tool and just build what I need from the ground up. The other systems are just way too bloated and I only need a few core functions and can add features as needed. It's going good, but has definitely been kicking my ass. I'm planning to launch this week though. The new design is in place, the user/login/session system is in place. All of my database classes are finishg, the show/episode database is done and now I'm just tweaking the display of that. I have a flash video player I built instead of using vimeo or youtube. I have a server with unlimited bandwidth that will be hosting the vidoes.
All in all, we are close. Very close. My roommate in Syracuse is editing down the Ommegang episodes and the Empire one's are done.
Gonna try and head to Ithaca to film on Friday so I can have an "upcoming episodes" area of the site.
