I got the SA email newsletter today and found this interesting:

For 25 years, our founder Jim Koch has been committed to traveling to Bavaria each hop harvest to hand-select only the highest quality noble Hallertau Mittelfrueh hops for his original brew, Samuel Adams Boston Lager. This summer, Samuel Adams is excited to offer craft beer lovers across America the ultimate Bavarian Beer Country adventure. Teaming up with premier travel agency, Abercrombie & Kent, Samuel Adams is offering "The Samuel Adams Hopfenpflucken Adventure". Hopfenpflucken will give beer lovers a hop experience you'll never forget at the epicenter of Beer Country July 31st- August 6th 2009.

The trip will include:
Private hop field and facility tour of the centuries old Stanglmair Farm, led by one of the farm's owners, Stefan Stanglmair, and a Samuel Adams brewer. Trip goers will explore the Hallertau Mittlefrueh noble hop fields and learn about their importance to the flavor and aroma of Samuel Adams Boston Lager. Tour will be followed by an exclusive Samuel Adams Boston Lager tasting amidst the hop grounds that make this award-winning flagship beer possible.

Exclusive tour of Old Town, Bavaria followed by dinner at the region's most renowned beer garden, Augustine Keller

Day trips to Bamberg and Regensburg to visit the Schlenkerla Brewery, world-famous Weyermann Specialty Malting Company where Samuel Adams sources a number of malts used to make Samuel Adams® Black Lager, Samuel Adams® Holiday Porter and other notable styles, tour of Regensburg's oldest brewery, Spital Brewery and visit to the German Hops Museum

Tours of the BMW museum and Olympic Park followed by an exclusive tour/dinner at the world's oldest brewery, Weihenstephan Brewery in Freising, Germany.

Very cool. If I didn't have a Europe trip planned for mid august already I'd probably consider this.

That is kinda cool, but I would trade out that tour of the BMW Museum for a visit to another brewery or something.

I'm honestly not a huge fan of museums. I enjoy hitting a couple of the big guys like The Louvre and Uffizi, but I can't even stay at those guys for too long.

I got this email too. Sounds great, but I'm going to have to wait a long time to do something like this. Get these damn kids off to college.

I am curious what the pricetag is for this though.

That actually is much less than I was expecting it to be.

I think that's directly related to the BMW tour :o

The BMW museum is pretty damn cool, especially the new one plus it is across the street from the Olympic Park, site of the 1974 games. Makes it a really nice trip
