Inspired by the below topic, I'm brewing up a semi-dry stout next week. Not exactly to style, but close enough.
How's this look? Will the Carafa be lost in the mix or balance well with the roasted barley?

Partial Mash
32 IBU
O.G. 1.042
Mash grains at 150 for 1 hour
3 gallon boil – 5.5 gallon total batch size

3.3# Marris Otter Liquid Extract
1.5# Pils Malt
10 oz. Roasted Barley
8 oz. Flaked Barley
6 oz. Carafa III
4 oz. Crystal 80L

1.5 oz. Willamette at 60 min.
1 oz. EKG at 10 min.

Yeast: Wyeast Irish Ale Yeast (starter made 2 days before)

Ferment at 68 degrees

looks tasty to me. I have not used any Carafa yet so I dont know.

I am only on my second stout, but I really like them

Wooooo buddy, that looks good. I'm a big fan of the Carafa. Looks very similar to my standard stout, except instead of chocolate you have carafa/caramal. Let us know how it turns out!
