I just a almost 3hr lasting kegging process and I am somewhat pissed! A 15-20min process turned into almost 3hr. Wanted to keg my Hefe in one of my 5gal cornies. Believe it or not ... out of 8 5gal cornies, not a single one holds pressure and/or leaks.

Some of them have never been used before, but others have. All have new o-rings and seals. I didn’t have any keg lube around and used some KY as I have before. But not a single keg was right. One had the in post leaking when the disconnect was attached. Another one leaked somewhere around the pressure release valve, etc etc etc. wtf? I mean wtf is wrong??

I ended up only kegging in the only one that holds pressure, my 3gal cornie. Now I still have 2gal Hefe sitting on its cake for at least one more week.
What else can I try? The gf got really pissed with me doing all this crap in the kitchen tonight instead of the garage some other day

When is the last time you changed the poppits? I change the orings about every 4 fills. Poppits about twice a year or if otherwise needed. Also its good practice to mark you lids in a certain area. This way you put them back on the way they were facing when they came off. And a can of food grade spray lube has lasted me almost 3 years, I think it cost around 5 bucks. Im not sure what to tell you about the pressure relief valve. What orings are you using? McMaster?

Other than that I couldnt really tell you.

When you use the lube, be sure to get the sealing surfaces on the poppits and the pressure release.
I've never used KY, but you can pick up plumbers silicone at the HD, I've had good luck using that.
Hope that helps, good luck.

Just had to buy some replacement parts myself yesterday. The relief valve has a rubber foot on the bottom when you take it out, this foot can be flipped over to which ever side is flatter--for a better seal.

Till now, I never used lube on my poppets, but I'm going to use it on every sealing surface from here on out.

I also keep a soapwater spray bottle on my kegerator so I can check for leaks as I hook kegs up--you definitely want to spot a leak before it drains your Co2 bottle.

+1. I use my starsan spray bottle.
