I've ordered from HD many times in the past, but always for just 1 pound at a time. With this, I usually incur around $8 in shipping for standard UPS ground. I'm going to get a pound of the Styrians but also am looking for the Amarillo.
I'm just wondering what shipping cost to expect with 2 lbs if anyone has any info on this. If it gets substantially more, it is more cost effective for me to just order the Amarillo from Nikobrew.

Just ordered a pound of magnum ($23) and a pound of EKG ($21). The total billed to my card was $53.95. So, shipping to 22902 for 2 lbs was just under $10. Probably the same to Nashville.

Off topic: Can you freeze hops? I've never purchased in quantity before.

Yes, vacuum sealed and in the freezer is the preferred method to store hops.

Does Puterbaugh still give you like 2 lbs of hops for the price of 1?

Last time I ordered from them, they did. We'll find out in a few days if they've tightened that up...

I had just opened a Fuggles I bought from them, had it in the freezer as was (as it were :D). Clocked in @ 2.3 lbs. Gotta love it.

Aww man that sucks. Guess it was too good to last :( .Well, at least you did get an oz free in that one there. :)

Yep, can't argue. An extra ounce of Magnum never hurt anyone ;)

As long as we're figuring out shipping from Puterbaugh, I think it cost me about $10 to Hanover, PA. Pound of Fuggle and a pound of Galena.
Total was $67, IIRC.

I just went with the 1 pound of Styrians and still was $10 for shipping. Oh well. Next time I'll know better. Need to figure out my next brews and then go from there first. These Styrians might take me on a Belgian binge again, but I do need some Amarillo and NB as well.

I'm in dire need of some bittering hops. I'm pulling the trigger on a Beer gun this week, but after that it's some Admiral, Bravo, Cascade, Amarillo. Possibly some EKG and either Hallertau or Sazz as well. I love drinking citrusy IPA's from late spring through early fall with some Belgian Pale Ales and some Milds, ESB's and Ambers thrown in.
Shippiing for me was $8.76. I'm sure shipping increases only minimally when you order more. Even at $1.32/oz, I'm not going to complain.
