Saw this for the first time in my local place last night so I picked up a six.

Pours a nice clear copper/amber with a foamy white head

Aroma is malt, slight caramel. Not picking up any hop aroma

Taste is malt sweetness, followed with a slight spicy hop bitterness. Some vanilla in the malt and yeast profile. Well balanced, but definately malt foward

Mouthfeel is medium body, slightly creamy. Moderate carbonation

Very drinkable session beer. Not a lot of traditional belgian flavors here, but well made and very drinkable

This is a nice, well made beer. Not a "dude, you've got to try this" beer, but a nice daily drinker type of beer. I'm sure I'll be picking this up again soon.

So no real "fruity" esthers you'd expect from a belgian?

IIRC, Belgian Ambers and Pales shouldn't really have those big esters & phenols as a style...balance and sessionable/drinkability are the two descriptors generally associated with these beers.

No big fruit, or big anything.
Balanced and subtle, and definitely sessionable.
