Is that Jamil's recipe? I was just listening to his show on Brown Ales and it looks very similar. I've actually been debating doing a nice brown to have around as a lighter beer for my new years party. We shall see.

Next time I do a brown, I'll follow that recipe. So far I'm unimpressed with all the browns I've made except the one with Burton Ale aged into something nice.

What yeast did you use? US 56?

yep. The hop amounts on mine are different though, actually I have no idea how much's hops I put into this thing. Discovered my scale had been broken right before I started my hop edition. Judging from the smell coming out of the fermenter, this thing might be a little more hoppy than I wanted.

I would love to do Mike McDole's Janet's Brown recipe... But the hops are just insane and it would cost a fortune to brew. ;)

Brewing that next weekend. It's an awesome beer.

Yeah, I was going to brew this brown ale today... But it's fucking raining and I just don't want to deal with that BS. Sucks too because I have the day off. Guess I'll have to find other things to occupy my time.
