this is my 4 gallons of Trippel in a 7 gallon fermenter, kept blowing the lid off so I just took the damn thing off, right now it looks like a volcano experiment. Hope all that talk about c02 protecting the beer is true. I wish I had a video camera, cause it looks cool as hell right now.

oh yeah, my office smells amazing right now. Lesson to be learned dont put an 1.096 beer on a yeast cake. And if you do use a carboy so you can use a big blow off hose.

I'd soak a towel in sanitizer then put it over top, just for a little extra protection :D ... but should be fine, I suspect.

Yeah I might do that, specially considering I have the window open to try and cool it off, cause god knows what the temp of that wort is.

hahaha, gotta love that belgian yeast. I had an explosion today, check out the video in my 888 thread. Wort shot to the roof. That was just with wlp001 too.

Yeah that first time I have beer all over my ceiling, the next time I got it all over my face, trying to get the air lock off before the lid came off again. Then I said screw it, its staying off.

You should start culturing Belgian wild yeast in your house. That'd be cool.

Well that belgian Abby ale yeast is crazy. FG 1.012!!! Thats 86% attenuation. Should make for a nice 11.3% beer. The sample on transfer tasted great. Now its gonna sit on some Oak cubes for a month.

That sounds like a winner!
