Doing a test batch to test out the water at my new house, and make a beer that everyone will like. Been a while since I have done an American beer, so I bring you. American wheat.
6 pounds German Pills
5 pounds German Wheat.
.75 pound Light Munich
and 1 oz. of what ever hops I can find in my freezer.
yeast US-05
Hopefully it will be a good beer for the masses.
Oh and is frozen yeast dead yeast? Cause Houston we have a problem. :(.. Did pick up some Farmhouse ale, Brett L, and lacto, for a wild saison.

Looks like a German Wheat to me ;)
Frozen doesn't necesarily mean all dead, but you will want to make a starter to see if there are any viable cells.

It was a starter, a huge starter of Flanders yeast. I am going to try and salvage it, but I think its a goner.

Why did you have it in the Freezer?
Or was your fridge set too cold?

Fridge, For some reason the fridge went from being not cold enough to put cokes out their, to cold enough to freeze everything in there? NO setting where changed on it.
Frozen yeast in liquid = dead yeast. You could try thawing out the starter, add some DME and see if anything happens, but don't get your hopes up.
I'd say that recipe looks more like a Weissbier than an American wheat. Whatever it is, I bet it'll sure taste good!

Yea, when yeast is frozen in liquid the ice crystals kill all the yeast, unless you do the glycerine thing that pretty much removes the crystals.

Doesn't remove the crystals, it just forms a protective barrier around the cell wall of the yeast.

Well i added some wort from todays brew. The wort smells pretty good, I am thinking I might should have added 1 pound of the Munich. Welp I am drunk and need to get stuff ready to start cooling. Its amazing how fast your tolerance goes down.

Got this little guy in the keg today, sample tasted really nice. Very light, something BMC drinkers will like.

Very much so, besides getting screwed on my first c02 fill, it has been awesome.

You needed a refill already? How big's your tank? I've had a 20#er for a year and still haven't needed a refill.

5 pound, I knew I got screwed as soon as I was walking into the house, the bottle felt the same weight it did before. When I hooked it up to the regulator it was already reading in the red. This time I went to a fire place and they got it all filled up right for half the price also.
The first place, I have read about several people getting screwed over, they will not get my business again. :k2:
