Sweet, glad it made it alright. The Belgian Wit is a recipe I made and took honorable mention(4th) place with in the Upland brewing Co Upcup home brew comp. should be crystal clear
The Brown Porter . pretty much what it says.
The East Coast Wit is my belgian Wit grain bill , but instead using all American hops and no spices. Plus a Cascade dry hop, and east coast ale yeast. cloudy *ass* fuck

As for the commercials. they can all be looked up. The Upland Wheat Ale is some sort of townie favorite around here. Not one of my personal favorites. But seems to be for almost everyone else. I happen to think my Wit is better than the Upland Wheat. Similar tho, thats why I included it for you to try.

Three Floyds is the only brewery I'm familiar with, but I can't get them around here. The other commercial brews are new to me, which is great.

Off to the Home Brew club meeting now, I will be looking forward to seeing which you tried and what you thought when I return.....

First up, Ronthered's Belgian Wit.

Appearance - Pours a nice, cloudy pale yellow. Thin head, but I blame my pour, the small head stayed throughout the beer.

Aroma - Wheat, citrus and yeast, with a little background spice.

Taste - Tangy wheat with spice and citrus. Classic wit yeast profile. There's something else that really makes the citrus pop, maybe some grapefruit?

Mouthfeel - Smooth and silky.

Overall - Very drinkable and refreshing. Nice representation of the style. I could drink this beer all night.

This is a really nice, well made beer. I'm really looking forward to tasting the rest.

Next is Ron's East Coast Wit.

Appearance - Light and cloudy, with a thinnish head that dissipates to a ring of bubbles around the rim. Some lacing.

Aroma - Wheat and hops. Not a combination I'm used to, but very pleasant.

Taste - Wheat tang followed by a fairly bitter hop finish. Hop profile is smooth, earthy and citrus.

Mouthfeel - Thin body with a fairly dry finish.

Overall - This is the first hoppy wheat that I've had and it's a really nice combination of flavors. A refreshing beer that I would definitely have more of.

Upland Brewing Wheat Ale

Appearance - Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a slight head that quickly fades.

Aroma - Wheat and citrus, some background spice.

Taste - Starts off like a typical wit with tangy wheat and citrus, but the spice in the finish is a surprise. I'm tasting cinnamon, apple and nutmeg, it's an apple pie wit.

Mouthfeel - Smooth with a slightly dry finish.

Overall - This beer took me by surprise a little. It's an odd combination of what you find in a hot weather refresher and a cold weather spiced beer. Creative recipe well brewed, but I'm not sure it's my cup of tea.

You're right, ron, yours is better. This is well made, but there are some flavors that seem out of place.

That's all I'm tasting for tonight (although not all I'm drinking), hopefully I'll have at some more tomorrow night.

Very nice, sounds good. The Belgian has fresh grapefruit and tangerine peel in it.

In addition to orange? It really makes the citrus shine through, you can be sure my next wit is going to have some new ingredients.

Tonight I tried Ronthered's Brown Porter.

Appearance – Pours a rich, dark brown with a full off-white head that lasted about halfway through the beer.

Aroma – Roasty malt with a slight nutty aroma.

Taste – All malt with roastiness and some chocolate. Some background notes of licorice and coffee.

Mouthfeel – Medium body and carbonation.

Overall – Very nice porter. Drinking this beer made me wonder why I don’t drink and brew more porters. I think I’m going to have to change that.

I'm sad that this was the last of the Ron's homebrew, I really enjoyed tasting them, all were very good.
On the bright side, I've still got 2 commercial tourbox brews to taste.

Sounds like a great lineup! Man I can hardly wait for my turn. We haven't had a swap in a while. Could be time for a fall HBC swap.

Tonight I tasted Oaken Barrel Brewing's Gnaw Bone Pale Ale.

Appearance – Nice clear copper color with a nice off white head. Dissipates into bubbles and lacing.

Aroma – Grapefruit hops with some crystal malt and pine resin.

Taste – Big citrus hop flavor with some earthy pine. Some malt but quickly overtaken with a very smooth bitterness.

Mouthfeel – Medium-light body with good carbonation.

Overall – Very tasty and drinkable pale ale. Big bitterness and very refreshing.

Nice beer, with I had a six pack.

That beer is a good beer to have around the house, I really enjoy it. And the guys that brew it are pretty cool, I have talked to the head brewer there and he started out as a homebrewer. He started taking his homebrew to the brewery for the head brewer at the time to try out and eventually they offered him a job. good down to earth brewery.

Tonight I tasted Robert the Bruce Scottish Ale from Three Floyds.

Appearance - Clear deep amber color with a thin off-white head which dissipates quickly.

Aroma - Roasty crystal malt, hint of fruit as well.

Taste - Lots of caramel malt up front, followed by a nice hop bitterness, with a malty, bready finish. 7% alcohol is not evident in this well balanced beer.

Mouthfeel - Medium mouthfeel, very smooth. Well carbonated.

Overall - Very nice beer. Definitely malt forward, but there is a good amount of hop bitterness to offset the sweet malt character. I've heard lots of good things about Three Floyds, but this is the first beer I've tried from them and I wasn't disappointed.

That's it for my tourbox reviews, thanks again Ron for all the great beers.
