Since building it, I've been using my kegerator with the five feet of 3/16" beer line that came with my tower assembly. Getting things balanced has always been a touchy affair, requiring some compromises...I have to keep the beer a little colder than I prefer, and the serving pressure a touch less than what would be ideal for maintaining proper carbonation. Once in a while I get a keg in there that won't behave, but overall it's worked out OK.
So a few days ago I bring my keg of Helles in from the garage fridge, from where I've been sneaking the odd glass with a picnic tap that worked beautifully. I can't get the damn thing to pour right from my kegerator!!! Every time, I'm basically pouring a glass of foam, waiting for it to settle and then topping it off with more foam.
I'm thinking those lines have been in there for five years now...why not replace them with longer lengths (with the excess neatly coiled) that will provide more flow resistance? Is going with 10' overkill for the standard Sanyo mini-fridge installation? I'm curious what other guys are using in similar setups and if they're happy with the results.
