I know I know most people think that part pigs are gay. I would not have bought one, but while on vacation all the breweries we went to sold them. I picked one up for $30.00 no deposit full or stout 2.25gal, and headed back to the hotel. I got back home and decided to order some pouches for it, and use it. They are ok, but expensive to use since the pouches are 5 bucks and you have to keg the beer first to carb it then transfer to the party pig. The positive side of it is you can take it to friends and it fits in the fridge and no need for Co2 like a traditional keg.

All that to the side I wanted to be able to use mine with Co2 at home to eliminate the costly pouches or use it with the pouches for a night out.

Here is what I came up with, and it works great.

I add Co2 by hooking it to the in post of a keg that is already pressured up. this is the cheapest way I could think of and I had the stuff.

Spent all that time making this build.
Na I have been busy with way too much crap. I have been brewing the whole time, but not had time for the forums. Its good to be back.

That's cool man. I've got a couple that have been sitting for years collecting dust.

Nice alteration, little tap in the fridge is cool and would be extremely useful to me right now with my dead kegerator.

This was the most recent thread on this subject so I figured I'd bump this one.

My wife got me a party pig for Christmas and I just cashed my first batch. I will say, I'm impressed. A hell of a lot easier than bottling, and takes up way less room than a kegging system. There is definitely a niche for this. It worked great for me from first pour to the third from last. The last three pours required me to lift in up so the tap was down so that it didn't foam. I did struggle to get the initial pressure pouch to pop, couldn't do it with the and pump alone...had to get it as full as I could then squeezed it until it popped. Next time I'm just going to put the air compressor to it. I also had a problem deflating the bag after it was done. I ended up taking three of the four screws off and letting it pop open, then quickly stabbing the pouch with the screw driver... wasn't pretty, and there was a big "oh shit" moment, but it got the job done.
