This is also my first time trying to write a serious review of a beer, so feedback is welcome.
Appearance: Golden yellow, moderately cloudy. Not much of a head, thin and white and dissipated quickly.
Aroma: Very hoppy and citrusy. The first sniff the Amarillo was all I could detect. As the beer warmed and I swirled the glass, I began to detect lemon and some mild bubblegum esters, more of what I would expect from a wheat beer.
Taste: The first few sips all I tasted was the hop bitterness. As I became desensitized to the Amarillo and the beer warmed, I began to taste more of the bubblegum esters and a taste of lemon, with a sweet finish. This is a suprisingly complex beer whose character changed as I made my way through the glass.
Mouthfeel: Highly carbonated and crisp.
Drinkability: Very high, I think it would take a few bottles just to figure this one out. I'm not a hophead and a little IPA goes a long way with me, but the hops were never overpowering and plenty of other flavors and aromas came through. A unique, delicious brew.
