I have had this style one time maybe. I don't know much about it but I want to make one anyway. What's your recipes?

I think (not 100% sure) it started off as an English Style with, malty, darker, higher abv. Now it seems to be any interpretation. I just brewed a Belgian Winter Warmer for the first time. It's bubbling away next to me. Hoping it's good. We'll find out in about a month. Here's the recipe.

My Old Ale is not too big but turned out very nice as all-grain and extract versions, plus made one time as a spiced x-mas ale with cinammon, all-spice and nutmeg.

Brewer: Christo
Beer: Carmen's Old Ale
Style: English Old/Strong Ale
Type: Extract w/grain
Size: 5 gallons
Color: 37 HCU (~18 SRM)
Bitterness: 52 IBU

I agree. I usually make some sort of big brown or scotch ale as the base.

BJCP mentions is alot under Old Ale. Like a 6% Old Ale. I am kinda on the English tip right now might go that way.
