Put my saison in the keg today. It's been sitting in the brand new cask for 3 weeks... which is quite a while because the initial oak flavor is going to be way strong then later beers. I pulled a hydro sample to check final gravity.. right around 1.005/6. Put it in a glass to taste...
...
.,. wow. This beer is absolutely amazing. The aroma is of cherries and zesty spiciness cloaked in what smells like a rich red wine, I know it's the oak. I've smelled an oaked beer before, but it's got to be the robust aroma that is prevelant in most wines. It is warm and inviting. So, I take a sip...
...uhhhhhh, what? I have a keg of this? FUCKIN A. I really can't find the words to describe it. It's like a beer flavored wine... ok ok, that sounds terrible.. but it was the first thing that came to mind. It is so fucking good though. I'm gonna bottle a few off the keg, I need others to enjoy this.
Christmas ale is going in tonight, it's soaking/rinsing right now.
