Planning on doing this in the next couple of days. Figuring 5 oz. of wet hops = 1 oz dry.

I'll be picking during the mash and boil. I'm assuming there will be less wort absorption than with whole dry hops. Should be interesting.

Chuck, you aren't sure of the strain? Were they given to you?

It may be a good thing you added as much as you did. My Cascades, which typically have 6% AAU in commercial varieties we far less than that. I estimate them to be only 4 AAU at best.

Since you used yours for flavor and aroma, you should be ok.

Let us know how it turns out.

I just brewed an APA with 10 oz of my wet(ish) homegrown Cascades.

I cant wait to see how it turns out!

Cheers,

I know the parent plant is about 30 years old.... mine is 6.... I had a sample tested for IBU's, but so far no one has been able to positively ID them..

Based on age, we have eliminated a lot of varieties. So they are just Vermont Mystery hops
