Brew fail

While brewing today, I noticed my boil temp dropped by 10 degrees. So I cranked up the dial on my stove another couple notches. It dropped another 10 degrees. ( electric stove) I toasted one of my 8 inch burners today. Luckily I'm an electrician by trade. Got some work to do before next brew day. Good thing they have two 8 inch burners or I'd be screwed. Lol. Anyone else ever have this happen?

I have had the elements on a stove go before. Actually, one wild thing did happen to a friend of mine and I was there to witness it. All of a sudden the element made a "pop" sound and then wouldn't work. Upon close inspection there was a tiny pinhole in it that appeared to have been caused by some electrical anomaly. Have no idea what caused it it was really odd.
