On one of my beers, the feedback was fairly consistent and totally in line with how the beer was brewed....on my other (and a friends multiple entires), while the overall scores were consistent, the feedback was completely different on each sheet. When I say different, you wouldn't even think they tasted the same beer going from the comments. There was zero feedback value from those sheets.

K4 sounds bitter. And not like a 8B bitter, like an angry divorce kind of bitter.

Not bitter at all and I have no issue with the overall scores so it's not a "my beer was awesome and should have been BOS" thing.

There was no agreement in the comments/flaw analysis on one of my two entries. For example on a pale ale one judge said that it had too much bitterness and astringency from too high a hop rate (& was the only one of three who noted astringency) while another score sheet for the same beer said it lacked bitterness & needed more hops for style...a third judge said that the hops were with in style.

It's a big comp for the area and maybe it has overwhelmed their resources at times

Are all the judges BJCP grads? They had over 800 entries last year, maybe they had to improvise. I still might put something in to get an idea of where I measure up.

Not all are certified; some apprentice & recognized judges...but that's to be expected with the size of the comps

Total was 750 or so.

Got scores yesterday. The pils got a 37 and a 35. The wee heavy got a 33 and a 32.5. Not enough alcohol for the judges.
