so in the latest BYO magazine, there was a club in canada that has a competition called "B.U.R.P." (brewing under ridiculus parameters ) where they take 10lbs of a base grain and make beer with only those grains (toasted by you as needed) and what ever adjuncts you want.
sounded like a neat idea, thought we could do a huge swap, or even turn it into a comp. with a few people voted to be judges?
what do you think?

Personally, I'm not really down with toasting my own grain; but I do like the idea of everyone using the same ingredients.
Lots of clubs do comps or brews where everyone makes the same recipe or kit; that way the only variable is procedure.
I might be up for something like that.

I've never done it so I dont know I just thought it would be interesting. to have exactly the same grain just how people could change it would make it unique

I toasted my own grain once and turned out really intersting/good?... I think it's about time we put together the official HBC homebrew club..........

Needs to be done. Definately for competitions.

I am down for either brewing the same recipe or using the same base grain for a brew and mod'ing it to how ever you want and using it. Maybe we could set up quantities and varieties of ingredients and let everyone mod them if they want, then swap and judge.
