APA has been in primary for 3 weeks and has bottomed out at 1.012 which is a few points lower than expected. The problem is that I still have silver dollar sized chunks of krausen floating around. I've made this recipe many times and never had this happen. I did convert it to all grain but it is still basicly the same. Should I just rack to secondary or let her go for a while more?
Edited: It's only been 3 weeks

Just go ahead and rack, some times you will get Krausen's that will just not fall. If you swirl the bucket it will start to fall, most of the time at least.

I agree with ryan, just rack it. if it's still not a huge 2 inch krausen covering the whole thing, then it's fine.

I've swirled a few times. I guess I'll just rack it when the gf is not at home. (Not supposed to be playing with my beer for a while)

Rack it
I seem to have this happen a lot. I just rack it and all is well

I would think that this beer could be brought in under some form of grandfather clause since it was brewed before the deal was made, and therefore is not considered to fall under said perameters of said deal......blah blah blah :drunck smiley: She doesn't really expect you to leave a beer that is already 3 weeks old for another month, does she? I mean what about autolysis? She doesn't know anything about brewing, right?

Well see then you can tell her that if you don't rack that beer over (because it has been sitting for sooooo looooong already) it will go bad and that will be xx number of dollars out the window and that just doesn't make fiscal sense. :x :P
